A four-day journey through history, heart, and the unexpected
Some road trips are planned down to the minute.
Others leave room for detours, discoveries, and the quiet moments that stay with you long after the bags are unpacked.
This was one of those.

Our first Alabama road trip began in Orlando and unfolded over four days of wandering through Alabama, with a few meaningful side trips into Georgia and Florida. What started as a simple drive north turned into something much richer—ancestral promises kept, forgotten places uncovered, and a growing appreciation for the stories hiding just off the highway.
This hub post is your starting point. Below, you’ll find each day of the journey laid out in order, with links to the full itineraries, reflections, and lessons learned along the way.
Take it slow. That’s how this trip was meant to be experienced.

🌅 Reflections from the Road
This trip reminded us that not every meaningful journey is flashy. Sometimes it’s about honoring the past, letting yourself feel what comes up, and trusting that the road will meet you where you are.
Alabama surprised us—in quiet cemeteries, colorful folk art, ancient landscapes, and small moments that didn’t ask to be rushed.
And those are always the best kind.

- Leave room for personal stops—they matter more than you think
- Don’t underestimate the power of one well-chosen place per day
- Let the weird stops in—they balance the heavy ones
- Build in time to just be quiet on the drive home
Because the road doesn’t just take you places.
